Álvaro González Rico is a multilingual, internationally experienced investment banking and entrepreneurial professional. As an Associate at Medina Ventures, he plays an active role in the firm’s investment committee, due diligence and financial analysis, fund operations, deal sourcing, portfolio company engagement, and investor relations. Furthermore, Álvaro contributes to thematic research, market mapping, and investment thesis development across AI, cybersecurity, and frontier technology sectors.

Prior to joining Medina Ventures, Álvaro built a strong foundation in investment banking at Rabobank in New York City, where he worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions group. As an Investment Banking Analyst and later Associate, he advised corporate clients on buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions, supporting deal execution through financial modeling, valuation analyses, confidential information memoranda, management presentations, and strategic buyer analysis.

Álvaro has professional experience across finance, energy, and infrastructure in the USA, Spain, and Mexico, including roles at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, Repsol S.A., Star Group, and Bow Power. Additionally, Álvaro brings hands-on entrepreneurial experience building and scaling early-stage technology companies. He is the founder and former CEO of UNI FEED, a mobile platform designed to streamline communication between university students and their institutions. Prior to UNI FEED, Alvaro co-founded U-Gigs, a peer-to-peer freelancing platform serving college communities, where he was involved in product development, market research, capital planning, and corporate governance.

Álvaro earned a B.S. in Commerce (Finance) from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce, along with a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Psychology. He is a native speaker of Spanish and French, fluent in English and Portuguese, and has working knowledge of Mandarin Chinese and Italian. Alvaro is also a member of the Alumni Council of Gulliver Prep. Outside of work, Alvaro enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new cultures, and playing soccer and tennis.
